To provide secure mail access, the program supports SSL, POP3, SMTP, and IMAP protocols. In addition, UserGate Mail Server has integrated and highly effective anti-virus and anti-spam modules. The primary anti-spam module is based on Commtouch's analysis engine, which is used by many software producers and hardware solutions (3Com, CheckPoint, G-Data, F-Secure, Panda, and others). The engine is based on the content analysis technology Recurrent Pattern Detection™, which is able to detect spam in any language. The SpamAssassin engine is used as an additional anti-spam module.
